Preparation for 'Badwater' 2003

Ian is set to run the Badwater Ultramarathon again this year - and after crossing the finish line at the Mt. Whitney trailhead hopes to continue on to the summit of Mt. Whitney, thereby completing a trek from the lowest to highest points in the contiguous US for a total distance of 157 miles.

Along the way, he is raising contributions for Trinity Kids Care, an organization that provides home hospice care for children with terminal illnesses. If you would like to contribute, please e-mail a pledge to iparker@uci.edu. Pledges may be for a fixed amount; based on the total mileage actually covered (e.g. 10 cent per mile); or based on the number of degrees by which the temperature in Death Valley during the race exceeds 100oF (e.g. total of $25 if peak temperature listed in L.A. Times is 125oF for a pledge of $1 per degree).
