The Parker Lab participated in The American Cancer Society Relay for Life held at the University of California, Irvine on April 30-May 1, 2005. Relay for Life is a 24 hour event in celebration of cancer survivors, in memory for those who lost their fight againist cancer, and to raise funds for research, advocacy, education, and patient services for the American Cancer Society. The goal for each team is to keep at least one team member on the track at all times . The Parker Lab Team succeeded through the event with 1,746 laps around the track (~170 miles) and would like to share their experience with the pictures below.


The Parker Lab Team:
Imtihri De Silva (team captian), Angelo Demuro, Christele Demuro, Bobby Higuchi, Jane Higuchi, Michael Higuchi, Manny Montez, Judit Pallos, Ian Parker, Heather Rose, Judy Samattasribootr, Jianwei Shuai, Xinghao Shuai, Grace Stutzmann, and Omar Velasco.


Starting the relay are Imithri De Silva (team captain) and Judy Samattaribootr. Ian Parker shows his support for the team on the track.
By the second hour Ian Parker, Xinghao Shuai, and Omar Velasco walk the track.
While some team members were on the track, others participated in the extra activites. Grace Stutzmann shows off her limbo skills. The Shuai family.

The dedicated owl runners of the Parker Lab Team are Ian Parker (6PM-6AM) and Judit Pallos
(8PM-8AM).
